TOPIC: Mobile Robots - using the newest technology in warehouses and manufacturing

Speaker: Kevin Glynn

Location: Online – GoTo Meeting (By Registration Only)

Cost: Free

Once again, APICS Colorado bringing you a topic on the leading edge of supply chain.  To stay competitive you need to know about autonomous vehicles, combined with robotic arms that can pick up any material, and advanced software that is revolutionizing how we run warehouses and move goods within manufacturing environment.  Kevin Glynn works with companies that are adding to or working with these advances.  These new machines are easier to implement, but require different approaches and talent to deploy and maintain.  Kevin will provide us a rare look at the inside of what it takes to implement such a huge step.   Keven will explain why robot technology is largely being driven by mature startups, not the traditional equipment providers and how this influences the approach to vendor selection.  Not many people get a chance to learn from an inside source you don’t want to miss this.
Kevin is a technology independent consultant and leader.  His expertise comes from having been a Chief Information Officer (CIO) for a multinational manufacturer, VP of Operations, a multinational distributor and a 3rd party logistics company.  As CIO at his last company, he helped implement early Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), as well as the use of drones within a warehouse.  He now brings expertise to companies seeking to grow or restructure, and to reduce technical debt, especially in supply chain and related technologies.  Kevin is an adjunct professor in the School of Engineering at Northwestern University and was named CIO Innovator of the year in Chicago in 2019.   Kevin lives in Boulder with his wife and daughter.
