Our facility in Littleton, CO has an immediate opportunity for an early to mid-career level Manufacturing Support Team Member/Production Scheduler to join our mission supporting manufacturing operations. This role will require you to be organized with exceptional attention-to-detail skills. You will collaborate with manufacturing engineers, technicians, and other key essential team members supporting manufacturing. To be successful, you will need to be a self-starter with the ability to think and be dedicated in your efforts.

Summary of Key Duties

  • You will provide planning and scheduling for all assigned hardware in support of the Manufacturing Center and specified requirements
  • You will advise management on the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential productions issues; ensuring that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed
  • You will schedule equipment and personnel to support production operations
  • You will be responsible for weekly maintenance of project timelines which includes updates, analysis, and the ability to simulate various scheduling scenarios
  • You will supply earned value management (EVM) data to program planning
  • You will report schedule variance/analysis to manufacturing and production control management
  • You will work with program business operations personnel to resolve discrepancies/anomalies and delays impacting program schedule commitments
  • You will build long range schedules in support of shop capacity planning and manufacturing dispatch activities
  • You will create basis of estimates (BOEs) for proposals and providing commitment dates for hardware delivery to programs

In this role, you will perform as the leader of the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) group for the Production Planning & Control team within the Denver Mechanical Manufacturing Center (MMC). You will lead a team of material requirements/production planners collaborating with manufacturing, test, engineering, procurement, and shop leadership to ensure a steady flow of hardware through the metallic, composites, and additive manufacturing processes. You will also participate in strategic initiatives that will impact all manufacturing and planning organizations.

To be successful, you should have familiarity with material requirements planning (MRP). Additionally, strong analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills will be advantageous. You will also need to be experienced with MS Office software, have excellent communication skills, and be a self-starter.

Summary of Key Duties for this position:

  • Manage a team of around 10 Manufacturing Support Team members in their roles as Material Planners for the Mechanical Manufacturing Center (MMC) and be responsible for all management responsibilities for this team including performance management, talent development, and task direction
  • Provide leadership, direction, guidance and assistance to ensure communication and coordination to a multi-disciplined team responsible for various elements of the supply chain and manufacturing process
  • Manage the coordination of subordinate employee recruitment and training, performance assessments, work assignments, salary, recognition/disciplinary actions, and counsel and mentor assigned employees.
  • Oversee all work performed by your team to meet operational commitments
  • Engage with Operations Planning leadership to ensure strategic goals and initiatives are progressing to plan
  • Perform look ahead analysis to proactively manage potential upcoming conflicts and obstacles in order to minimize any impact to hardware delivery
  • Maintain a close partnership with the MMC scheduling team and leadership
  • Coordinate the PP&C interfaces with other stakeholders including the Manufacturing Centers, Inventory Operations, Program Master Scheduling, Quality Assurance, Transportation, and Procurement
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of work in process and be able to clearly and effectively communicate status, issues and path forward plans to multiple levels of the organization (MMC Leadership, MMC Directors, MFG VP), as well as communicate schedule and cost performance data to program stakeholders
  • Identify process improvements that will prove to reduce production cost and improve schedule performance
  • As a working manager, you will be responsible for performing day to day MRP functions in support of MMC Operations, delegating the MRP work across the team to ensure a balanced workload, and reassigning work for vacation/attrition coverage

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

As an Inventory Control Specialist, you must be able to plan, monitor, and assist with improving and maintaining all aspects of inventory control. You will coordinate the inventory accuracy and material support to ArcherDX for time and temperature-sensitive materials in an ISO/cGMP environment. Your ability to be a team-player and help develop solutions to problems are a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Job performance will involve a variety of activities including:

  • Provide inventory control support ensuring ISO/cGMP guidelines are followed.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy is achieved and in a ‘ready for audit’ state.
  • Manage ERP locations and ensure materials are appropriately labeled, stored, and organized.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory control accuracy by generating, distributing, and collecting cycle counts.
  • Monitor and assist with maintaining inventory accuracy for materials stored off-site.
  • Measure and report inventory control metrics.
  • Assist in the refinement or creation of standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams to implement and support inventory control initiatives.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance; responsible for accurate and thorough documentation completion.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of experience in supply chain, inventory control and management is preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a cGMP/ISO/FDA environment is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with various levels of personnel both internally and externally.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of administrative transactions and reports management within an ERP system.
  • Previous experience with temperature sensitive materials is preferred.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing Americas, this sourcing professional will be responsible for the strategic sourcing of IT categories including hardware, software (SaaS), services and telecom for the Americas region. This sourcing professional will also have some responsibility for global category project execution.

Responsibilities

  • As an individual contributor, this sourcing professional will serve as a trusted business advisor to stakeholders, providing best-in-class technical consulting from a sourcing and external benchmark/industry perspective.
  • Develop robust competitive bids with stakeholder collaboration and perform the analysis required to select suppliers and solutions.
  • Use data analytics, industry bench-marking and strategic sourcing methodologies to provide guidance in the development and execution of sourcing and category strategies, contributing to improved profits and cash flows.
  • Manage the development and execution of sourcing projects and initiatives ensuring alignment with the overall priorities and objectives of Hitachi Vantara as well as the specific business function.
  • Review contractual terms and conditions, negotiate and draft language to reflect favorable terms and mitigate risk.
  • Develop and maintain a best in class global preferred supply base for respective area of responsibility.
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers on a variety of contracts, to ensure maximum value and minimum risk to Hitachi Vantara.

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of basic procurement law with correlating ability to author/negotiate/oversee: master supply agreements (SaaS), professional services agreements, statements of work, change requests, amendments.
  • Subject matter expertise in the IT Category with extensive experience in SaaS Software, Public Cloud (ie, AWS, Microsoft, Oracle) and Professional Services.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading the sourcing process, working with stakeholders across businesses and geographies.
  • Proven ability to communicate, influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong business acumen, including good strategy, financial and operational skills.
  • Solid project management skills with the ability to drive and close multiple complex, high risk projects across business functions and geographies.
  • Excellent negotiations skills with the ability to negotiate large volume, high risk deals independently.
