As a Buyer in the Procurement organization the successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting all of the exciting Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company programs by executing all aspects of the procurement lifecycle for a wide variety commodities. Mission:

As part of the North American SSD Indirect Spend team, the primary purpose of this position is to lead the supply chain procurement strategy for Danone in North America (Danone North America, Danone Canada, Danone Waters of North America, Happy Family and Nutria).

 

This position requires proven Direct and Indirect category sourcing experience, as well as effective cross functional project leadership, negotiation, collaboration, analytical and communication skills. Experience in the Logistics industry or Logistics sourcing is a strong asset.

 

Position Description:

Lead and develop the various Logistics sourcing strategies in support to Danone Supply Chain team in domains of Transportation, Distribution Center network, Pallet management & pooling by leading approaches to:

 

Defining and implementing the supply chain sourcing strategies for respective Region/Division/Sites;

Support growth through identification and implementation of adapted partnership with retained suppliers, to improve both the route to market & inbound materials logistics network proposition;

Create internal synergies by combining needs of different divisions of the company;

Define sourcing strategy through market studies to identify best practices, identify gaps, risks and opportunities as well as to identify new suppliers or develop a robust supplier base.

Develop deep knowledge of categories (trends, inflation, technologies)

 

Lead team in driving key Commercial activities related to the Logistics categories:

Develop and launch RFQs / RFPs (request for quotation/proposal) to select suppliers in targeted categories;

Analyze the proposals and make recommendations to key internal stake holders;

Negotiate with suppliers to deliver quality, time and cost of service to meet business needs, as well as other commercial terms and conditions.

Lead contract ratification activities, assuring interaction with supplier and Legal teams;

Manage suppliers to ensure business needs are met and maintain Supplier Relationship Management to improve supplier’s performance;

Develop and implement performance indicators monitor suppliers and support continuous improvement.

 

Market Indexes/Benchmarking:

Leadership of various Risk Management practices such as fuel hedging

Analyze the supply chain market indexes and anticipate trends in the market place. Develop hypothesis, estimate business impact and recommend a course of action to key stake holders, in anticipation of the trends;

Benchmark with the Best-in-Class supply chain leaders to identify gaps and develop recommendations to be best-in-class.

Supplier Evaluation:

Evaluate and manage the global performance of supply chain suppliers;

Define the objectives of improvement of performance and the necessary action plans;

Manage the implementation of action plans.

Budget & Productivity Management:

Manage overall spend and productivity for supply chain sourcing;

Establish the budget, track variances and manage risks for respective area through work with Finance;

Identify new projects to create Cost Out Value In (COVI) opportunities,

Lead category Transformation:

Identify and implement new technologies in transportation to improve efficiency, carbon footprint and driver welfare

Identify and implement distribution center technologies that will enable Danone to become a pioneer of customer solutions, e-commerce penetration, as well as to improve efficiency

 

People & Relationship Management:

Manage a team made up of Sr Sourcing Managers and an analyst through team animation, follow up and coaching

Lead objective setting, progress and year end reviews

Establish and maintain relationship & governance with key stakeholders

Establish relationships with key cross functional teams (Finance, HR, Quality, Sales, SSD)

 

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management or a related field of study such as Engineering;

Minimum of 8 - 12 years’ experience in strategic purchasing or supply chain with demonstrated skills for negotiation;

Experience in the Transport industry;

Experience in the food-processing industry, especially perishable products is an asset;

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, multi-cultural, matrix environment;

People management: the individual must possess capability & experience in managing individuals and teams.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Customer Logistics Specialist is accountable for managing the order to delivery process for large customer accounts specifically, the Tier 1 or Top 30 customer accounts. RESPONSIBILITES:

 

Customer Order & Logistics Management
