Position Summary:

Charlotte’s Web is currently seeking a Manager of Material Planning and Inventory Control. This role will oversee the Material Supply Planning and Inventory Control team. The incumbent will collaborate with and manage cross functional partnerships with Charlotte’s Web Supply Planning, S&OP, New Product Development, Packaging Engineering, Quality, Procurement, etc. for all operations aspects of material supply planning, including new production initiatives.

The Manager of Material Planning and Inventory Control will be responsible for ensuring material is available to fill customer orders at lowest landed cost, minimizing the amount of material and finished product that goes obsolete or short coded, and achieving targeted inventory levels. They are responsible for all aspects of continuity of supply and customer service while eliminating waste and reaching lowest possible landed costs.

The Manager of Material Planning and Inventory Control will be responsible for working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Cultivation, etc. to set inventory targets, forecast usage, and model usage for multiple-years out for extract, bulk oil, and biomass products.

The Manager of Material Planning and Inventory Control will also be responsible for overseeing inventory control at all off-site locations, reconciling inventory each month, coordinating physical inventory counts as required, overseeing the annihilation process, and following all established protocols around accounting for any discrepancies.

The Manager of Material Planning and Inventory Control is also responsible for recruiting and developing talent through mentoring and apprenticeship.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all purchase orders are completed properly to fulfill production schedule and demand plan while mitigating supply chain disturbances (both upstream & down)
  • Provide guidance and direction to analysts on target efficiencies, target output, SKU prioritization, etc.
  • Work cross functionally to create a robust constrained plan for the delivery of service targets
  • Develop robust processes and works to give employees the opportunity to master the processes and the tools of Supply Planning
  • Perform inventory planning for seasonal products
  • Provide thorough production guidance, inventory policies and KPI tracking, and minimizes product and material obsolescence
  • Diagnose root causes to customer service and obsolescence issues: MRP settings, post-mortem analysis on forecast, inventory, production, etc.
  • Collaborate with Project Management, Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing and Purchasing on new projects to ensure material availability for product trials and launches
  • Reconcile inventory at all off-site locations on a monthly basis and researches, records, and receives approvals as required
  • Own, develop, and report on biomass, bulk oil and extract inventory
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree OR 5+ years equivalent experience
  • Supply Chain experience in progressively increasing roles of responsibility in a CPG environment
  • APICS certification preferred
  • Ability to manage and work well cross-functionally at all levels in the organization
  • Excellent customer relations skills
  • Excellent time management skills, able to prioritize multiple competing tasks
  • Understand total impact on financial supply chain figures when decisions are made
  • Use continuous improvement methodology
  • Systematic and analytical thinking
  • Strong project management approach
  • Self-motivated and has the ability to function with a high degree of independence
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Creative and innovative problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamins NAV a plus

Compensation:

$71,300.00 - $119,200.00
