  Responsibilities:

  • Material Operations is responsible for the management of material inventory levels to ensure that raw material components and manufactured products are available when needed to satisfy the plant and customer requirements.
  • Responsibilities include the planning and procurement of material components to minimize obsolescence and overstock situations while achieving maximum customer service levels.
  • Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product.
  • This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc.
  • Will be responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.

The Supervisor, Warehouse & Receiving is responsible for supervising the raw materials receiving function, raw materials inventory and logistics functions. In this role, the supervisor will promote safety and ensure effective utilization of the of space and the general appearance of the warehouse; for supervising the timely processing of work orders, sales orders, and stock requisitions in accordance with standard operating procedures. The incumbent resolves problems, analyzes work flow, maintains accurate inventory, develops and implements procedures, and ensures conditions and work are in compliance with GMP and ISO regulations.

What is the work you will be doing?
•Provides direct supervision and leadership to area leads and other Warehouse personnel. Facilitates staff meetings; 1:1 with direct reports; and monthly meetings.
Supervisory duties and responsibilities include:
• responsible for performance management and development of direct reports including written performance appraisal and disciplinary actions
• administers company policies and procedures
• ensures compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMP and ISO), safety policies and good housekeeping
• responsible for initial and ongoing training of subordinates to ensure quality of work, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP and ISO)
• rewards and recognition program participation,
• employee coaching and counseling and Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
• short and long-term staffing analysis; interviews, hires and directs training of new Warehouse personnel.
• Supervisory support of weekend staff overtime – potential to be on-site on Saturdays and/or Sundays.
• Effective staffing of organization, including hires and dismissal of employees when needed.
• Responsible for addressing and resolving employee concerns, whether directly or indirectly disclosed.
• Authorizes lead’s or Warehouse personnel’s time sheets and management of PeopleSoft data.

•Ensures that the accuracy and timelines of all Receiving and Warehouse transactions are made within the guidelines for the department.
•Ensures the accuracy of the inventory is within the guidelines for the department.
•Develops and implements procedures for the work flow in assigned areas.
•Investigates and files transportation claims on inbound receipts with carriers.
•Analyzes work flow, sets priorities, establishes best utilization of subordinates and drives improvements.
•Works with production and other departments and personnel throughout the company to resolve issues.
• May be assigned to task forces, committees, teams and project management.
• Responsible to lead two (2) Lean or one (1) Six Sigma projects per fiscal year.
• Works to ensure department follows established safety regulations through management of Safety Programs (JSA, SCAT, Machine-Guarding, Environmental and Ergonomics)
• Drive and Sustain World-Class Warehouse Initiatives
• Drive performance to KPI goals.
•Promotes and encourages the protection of Covidien assets in assigned departments.
• •Works to correct identified safety hazards, ensures that employees wear and use proper safety equipment and ensures that employees are trained in safety procedures.
•Investigates accidents in conjunction with the Safety, Manager and Occupational Health Specialist; ensures all required paperwork is complete and submitted to Safety, Health, and Wellness.
PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

• Provides direction and support to Warehouse personnel including Material Handlers, Inventory Clerks, and Coordinators.
• Interacts with Production Supervisors to ensure good customer service.
• Interacts closely with Production Purchasing and Receiving Inspection to ensure adherence to production schedule.
• Interacts closely with Human Resource to ensure
• Interacts closely with Manager, Warehouse to ensure overall goals of the department are met.
• Interacts closely with Environmental, Health & Safety Management on all related issues




Qualifications

Do you have these experiences or skills?

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Three (3) years warehousing experience.
• Three (3) years supervisory experience, preferably in the medical device industry.
• Lean trained required, Lean certified preferred.
• Six-Sigma trained preferred.
